Bruno studied at his hometown Ghent (Belgium) double bass with Frank Coppieters and chambermusic with Marcel Lequeux. He also joined masterclasses with Prof. Evgeniy Kolosov from Moscow.

Bruno was a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra and a laureate of international music competitions in Brussels, Parma and Geneva, where he also became the Swiss Price for contemporary music.

Since 1991 Bruno is principal double bass player of the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester. Besides chambermusic (p. e. Ensemble Modern, ut3–records, Duobasso), he's also playing the musical saw.

From 2009 till 2018 he was teaching the double bass at the Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium in Frankfurt am Main.

During the Corona lockdown, he and his brother Diederik developed the ORCHESTOOL.EU online service. This enables anonymous surveys especially for orchestras.
